At Hirsch Pediatric Dentistry we love to welcome new patients to our Royal Palm Beach practice.
We agree with the given recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry that suggest that all children should have their first dentist visit within the first year of life, or after the first tooth erupts.
How we proceed, depends on the child’s age and ability to cooperate. Above all, we want to make the young patient comfortable and provide a quick, easy and positive experience. The goal is for kids to return without fear.
Our emphasis is on kid-friendly prevention-based treatments while fostering the development of a patient who will seek dental care for a lifetime.
The first visit at Hirsch Pediatric Dentistry will likely include:
Parents are encouraged to go along with their child for the duration of the first visit. We recommend that kids younger than seven be seen early in the day when they are awake and aware. We also provide excused absence forms for children who need them.
Remain positive while preparing your youngster for the first dental appointment. Take the time to explain that it will be a fun experience. You can mention that we will brush and count the child’s teeth. Dr. J is happy to answer any other further questions ahead of time about the first visit.
